Studio Series Plate-Loaded V-Squat

Build lower-body strength with confidence using the Vesta Plate Loaded Hack Squat. Designed to promote a natural squatting pattern while minimizing unnecessary stress on the lower back, this machine provides a stable and controlled movement for developing the quadriceps, glutes, and hamstrings. Suitable for strength training, hypertrophy, and athletic performance, it serves as a versatile lower-body solution for both home and commercial environments.

Dual training positions allow variation between different movements. By facing the machine, the movement emphasizes a more glute emphasis and hamstring dominant squat, while facing away shifts the load to a quad-dominant squat. The plate-loaded design delivers smooth, consistent resistance while maintaining compatibility with standard Olympic weight plates.

Beyond the two training directions, the Hack Squat supports wide and narrow stance squats, pause squats, short-range pulses, and other lower-body training variations. The adjustable footplate provides five angle positions to accommodate different stances, ankle mobility, and squat preferences, allowing the setup to be adjusted for different training goals. Follow the guidelines below to get started:

  • Load Weight: Add Olympic plates evenly to both sides. Begin with a lighter load when establishing the preferred position and squat depth.
  • Choose Training Direction: Face the machine for greater glute emphasis, or face away for quad-dominant squat.
  • Adjust Footplate: Select one of five footplate angles based on stance, ankle mobility, and preferred squat position.
  • Set Foot Position: Place both feet securely on the textured footplate. A narrower stance can place greater emphasis on the quads, while a wider stance provides more involvement from the glutes and inner thighs.
  • Check Safety Stops: Confirm the safety hooks are operating correctly before beginning the movement. Position the safety hooks to engage at the lowest point of the desired squat depth.
  • Begin Squat: Lower through a comfortable range of motion while maintaining stable contact with the pads, then drive through the feet to return to the starting position.

Take lower-body training further and keep progressing with the Vesta Studio Series Hack Squat.
